Getting started
Sign in
There's no password. Sign in with a link sent to your email, Discord, Telegram or a passkey; the first time you do, you pick a username and your account is made.
- Continue with email
- Type your email on the sign-in card and press Continue with email; we send you a sign-in link. Open the link on the same device, in any tab: the sign-in page notices and carries on by itself. The link works once and expires in 15 minutes. You can resend it after a minute, or use a different email.
- Discord or Telegram
- Approve Coinwave there and you're signed in. On a computer Discord opens in a small window that closes by itself; on a phone it's a trip to Discord and back. Telegram only shows when this deployment has its bot set up.
- Continue with a passkey
- Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or your phone's screen lock. Create a new passkey, under the buttons, creates an account with a new passkey straight away; signing in with none on this device offers the same. Name it, or leave it empty and it's named for this browser and device.
If the email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder before resending.
Choose a username
The first time you sign in, Coinwave asks for a username: 3 to 50 lowercase letters, numbers, dots, underscores or hyphens (no dot or hyphen at the start or end, and no two in a row). It's on your profile and in your referral link. Press Continue and your account is made.
Invites
A friend's referral link opens the sign-in page with their code in it, and the card shows the code you were invited with. The code is kept until your account is made, even if you sign in through a magic link later, and the person who invited you is credited for good. If someone shared it as a code, press Have an invite code? on the sign-in card and type it in (4 to 16 letters or numbers) before you sign in. A code only counts for a new account. More in Referrals.
Add another way in
Once you're in, open Settings › Security › Login methods from the account menu to connect more: another email, Discord, Telegram or a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID or Windows Hello). Keep at least two, so losing one doesn't lock you out. Coinwave won't let you remove the last one.
